A Service-Oriented Approach for Sensing in the Internet of Things: Intelligent Transportation Systems and Privacy Use Cases

This paper presents a Sensing-as-a-Service run-time Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), called 3SOA, for the development of Internet Things (IoT) applications. 3SOA aims to allow interoperability among various IoT platforms and support service-oriented modelling at high levels abstraction where fundamental SOA theories techniques are fully integrated into practical software engineering approach. abstracts dependencies middleware programming model from application logic. allows efforts focus on writing logic independently hardware platforms, middleware, languages in which applications programmed. To achieve this result, objects treated as independent entities that may interact with each other using well-defined message exchange sequence. Each object is defined by services it provides coordination protocol supports. Objects then able coordinate their resources address global objectives system. practically validate our proposals, we demonstrate an intelligent transportation system data privacy functional prototypes proof concepts.
